Mentoring for Yoga Teachers and Studio Owners
Is your yoga business meeting your financial goals?
Are you living the life you imagined, on and off the mat?
I combine my business background (an MBA from Yale), and management experience in a variety of organizations, with my love of yoga. In 2004, I opened Yoga for Everybody, a Kripalu-affiliated, independently owned and operated yoga studio in Fairfield, CT. Having lived and breathed the challenges and joys of running a yoga center, I am uniquely qualified to mentoring studio owners and their managers.
“I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be working with you. I am learning sooooooo much. Your skill, professional expertise and down to earth way of working is user friendly, from the heart and right on the money. Bless you and Heartfelt thanks!!!!”

Strategies for growing your classes, community, and bank account
by: Andrew Tanner & Janis Bowersox
“Janis Bowersox is an inspired yoga business coach. Her ability to integrate the heart of yoga with the business needs of a yoga center is invaluable. Her approach is holistic and integrative, encompassing the needs of students, teachers, marketing, community outreach and methods for growing the business. While addressing the bottom line of the business, Janis embraces the philosophy and principles of yoga, helping the studio become viable and successful.”
- Marleen Salko, Marleen’s Yoga Center, Southport, CT
“If there is one thing that will help your studio prosper, it is to seek guidance from Janis. My short story is that I wanted a great yoga studio in my community; I knew nothing about the business of yoga. Articles of organization? W-9 Forms? Goals? Websites? Facebook? Mind-body-online? Marketing? I simply could not have endured all of this without Janis’s help. She was there for me 24/7. She graciously shares her vast experiences to provide excellent advice on concrete methods and techniques that will significantly improve business. I am confident you will experience the same results I have. “
Jan Vita, former owner of City Yoga, St. Augustine, Florida
"Thanks for sharing your analysis of the impact on income of various decisions regarding paying teachers, number of classes, and number of students - very helpful. This is exactly the kind of thing that would have been very helpful at the time I was starting out. If I had had this information 12 years ago, there is no doubt I would have taken a very different approach and it not only would have resulted in far less stress financially (and some money in the bank for me for all my efforts), but also would have laid a solid foundation for the step I just took in moving to larger space."
